VOLUNTEER and OUTREACH opportunities Click on the item of your choice: Are you looking to volunteer in the community and are unable to do so during the week? Here is the perfect opportunity! Also, as a non profit organization we are able to host youth who are required by the courts to perform community service. Please call 520-591-2276 for more information. The RVFM encourages community involvement and growth. We welcome non-profit organizations who wish to set up booths or fundraisers. Some groups that have visited the Barn in the past are: 4-H, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, The Humane Society of Southern Arizona, Saguaro National Park, Colossal Cave Mountain Park Tortoise Helper Project, Ironwood Pig Sanctuary, TARA-Tucson Avian Rescue and Adoption, Children's Cancer Hospital, and more.
Santa and a volunteer "Elf". A special thanks to Lisa Frank who provided gifts so that every child was able to receive a present after visiting with Santa.
The RVFM works closely with the Vail School District to provide opportunities for school groups that might not receive traditional funding. The Cienega High School Vocational Agriculture program has received a substantial plot of land behind the Market at no charge. The end goal is a working educational garden from start to finish. Aluminum Can Drive-for the Barn! We are conducting a fund raiser to help reach our goal of opening the second level of the barn. We encourage those in the community to drop off their unwanted aluminum cans every Saturday during business hours. (9:00am-2:00pm) A volunteer schleps the cans down to the recycling center. Every little bit counts! If you have a substantial quantity of cans, please call 520-591-2276 or email farmersmarket@aol.com and we have a volunteer pick them up from your location. If you would like to give, but are unable to volunteer please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Rincon Valley Farmers' Market. Call 520-591-2276 or email farmersmarket@aol.com for more information. |
