Grandparent's Day At The Market (8:00AM - 1:00PM)
Join us at the Market to get ready for Grandparent's Day Saturday September 6th from 8am to 1pm. Kids, come and make a craft for your grandparent. If you have kids that are a little older you can pick up some fresh apples and make an apple cobbler for your grandparent, or if you are short on time pick up something from Kimberly's Kitchen or Kristi's Bread. If your grandparent is a coffee-lover pick up a special treat for them from Adventure Coffee's selection of fresh, roasted coffee. Also, don't forget to check out our artisans inside the barn and on the west side under the Artisans Tent. We have beautiful handmade jewlery, one of a kind plates, handmade aprons, beautiful handmade ceramic pottery and more. Also, don't forget spending time with your grandparent is one of the best ways to show your appreciation, so invite them to the market with you!
The Rincon Valley Farmers & Artisans Market is open every Saturday year-round from 8am to 1pm in the summer and 9am to 2pm during the winter. We are a community gathering place with a wonderful variety of artisans and some of the best fresh local produce including tomatoes, squash and more.

"Butterflies Of Southeastern Arizona" (6:30PM - 7:30PM)
September Programs Offered at Saguaro National Park
Saguaro National Park is offering a series of programs that will explore the wonderful natural and cultural history of the park. Join naturalists for an evening walk in the park or join a local expert for a presentation in the visitor center. Programs will be offered at both districts. There is no charge for interpretive programs, but park entrance fees apply.
Special Programs offered at the Tucson Mountain District (Saguaro West) include:
September 6, 3:00 p.m. - "Butterflies of Southeastern Arizona"
September is butterfly month in the Sonoran Desert. Not only are they very common now, but many are southern and Mexican species that you can't see in other parts of the United States. Join Naturalist Jeff Babson as he presents a program that focuses on some of the more readily seen species for this area - a sort of a "greatest hits" type talk that features many of the larger, more colorful species that even a casual observer could see in the Tucson area. The presentation will also discuss some of the other smaller, but quite common, species that occur here. This program is wheelchair accessible.
Daily Programs
Each of the park's two districts offer additional daily interpretive programs not listed here. Contact either visitor center for a current schedule, or visit our website at http://www.nps.gov/sagu/planyourvisit/things2do.htm.
